Temptation & Spontaneous: Temptation\Spontaneous (Texas Cattleman's Club: the Showdown) ReviewThis was an exciting read as usual coming from Brenda Jackson! Temptation tells the story of Zeke Travers and Sheila Hopkins in a continuation of the Texas Cattleman's Club: The Showdown series. They first see each other in traffic an immediately the sparks begin to ignite. They then officially meet later that day at the hospital due to Sunnie the 5 month old baby girl abandoned at the Club indicating Zeke's best-friend Brad Price as the father. As Zeke is in the process of finding out who is blackmailing Brad and the paternity of Sunnie he is immediately vested in Sunnie's welfare and care. Due to issues from his past he immediately feels kinship to the abandoned baby girl. After seeing how taking he is with Sheila it's suggested that she's awarded with temporary guardianship of the baby until paternity is determined to prevent the child from being placed in the system. Immediately you want this couple to see how much of a great fit they are together since their chemistry is off the charts. They both have some reconciling of past abandonment issues to work through in order to realize they are each others halves. As usual Mrs. Jackson brings in characters from previous stories that you grew to love to give an update and make the characters come to life. She also is excellent in giving us the beginnings of the next love affair for the final book in the series. In addition to that the history she provides for Zeke's family leads you to wonder if another family series is on the horizon with the "Travers" in the spotlight.

In Spontaneous she concludes her "Jeffries" family saga with the eldest an last unattached sibling Duan. In this novel we are again embraced by characters we have grown to love from past novels and see how sparks fly with their family and friends. Duan Jeffries and Kimani Cannon spark fire from the beginning. We see how both Duan and Kim come to resolutions about their phobia of long-term relationships and are unable to fight their growing feelings for each other. The reader is immediately vested in the budding relationship as they fight to fall in love. In this novel as well Mrs. Jackson leaves tantalizing tidbits of Duan's partners in his Private Investigations Firm leading you to wonder just how and when their budding love connections will come.

As we have come to expect from Mrs. Jackson these reads are hot from the beginning but allow the reader to understand their reluctance to love as well as grow as her characters grow to realize past hurts are just that in the past. She has a way of allowing you to become emotionally invested in not only the main characters but their supporting cast as well. She always leaves you wanting more and anticipating the next novel to catch up on past characters and see who next to be hit by cupid's arrow and how they try to fight the inevitable.Temptation & Spontaneous: Temptation\Spontaneous (Texas Cattleman's Club: the Showdown) Overview
